Hello, I'm
António Goulão
Senior Mobile & Frontend Developer
Mobile Engineer · Rider · Reader
10+ years building software — the last 8 focused on mobile-first products with React Native and the React/TypeScript ecosystem. I've led two greenfield React Native apps end-to-end, from architecture to App Store and Google Play release pipelines. Currently at UpHill, automating clinical care journeys.
About
I'm a senior mobile and frontend developer — mobile first — with over 10 years of experience, the last 8 building mobile-first products with React Native and the React/TypeScript ecosystem.
I've shipped two greenfield React Native apps end-to-end: Liber at UpHill and Collibra for Mobile — owning everything from architecture to App Store and Google Play release pipelines.
Beyond mobile I've built for the web, desktop and browser extensions — React, Electron, native iOS in Swift 5 — and I run an AI-assisted workflow with coding agents like Claude Code and Codex. This site itself is built and maintained with Claude Code.
Experience
Senior Mobile & Frontend Developer
UpHill, S.A. — Lisbon
Mar 2024 — Present
- Led the full React Native rewrite of Liber, UpHill's multiplatform app (Android, iOS, iPadOS), on an Expo-based architecture — state and data with Zustand, React Query and MMKV; quality with Jest and Maestro; integrations with Stripe, Sumsub, Sendbird, Algolia, Intercom, Firebase and Sentry.
- Built Lanyard, an RPA service that navigates and extracts data from a third-party web app (Node.js, Playwright, TypeScript).
- Maintain and evolve the platform interface used by doctors and nurses to manage patient journeys.
- Integrated AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) into the daily workflow — scaffolding, test generation and large-scale refactors during the Liber rewrite.
